Director Facilities Operations


Our client designs, builds and sells a new generation of water treatment systems – a nutrient recovery solution that creates value from waste by removing nutrients from wastewater and transforming them into revenue-generating, environmentally-friendly commercial fertilizer. Along with helping wastewater treatment facilities reduce operating costs and meet increasingly stringent environmental regulations, their Nutrient Recovery Process recovers and transforms critical nutrients such as phosphorus and nitrogen into a slow-release fertilizer that they market and sell, providing cost savings and a new stream of revenue for municipalities.

Reporting to the head of our Waste Water business unit the Director, Facility Operations will be responsible for the ongoing support of the nutrient recovery based fertilizer production facilities. Working with our technical and fertilizer sales team they will provide assistance to client plant management to ensure optimal process performance. The position is full time, based in the head office in Vancouver, and will require extensive travel.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • Minimum of a BSc. in Chemical, Mechanical or Environmental engineering
  • Minimum of ten years of plant operations or maintenance experience
  • Valid Canadian citizenship
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, specifically in English
  • Well organized and independent – a self starter that drives tasks to completion
  • Flexible and determined in tackling diverse and demanding challenges
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
