LAMP Developer, Victoria BC (AD-LD)

Our client is a successful and profitable early-stage services company in the e-commerce and affiliate networking space. They have tripled in headcount over the last 4 quarters and are continuing to expand their team with qualified and focused individuals. Their most urgent need at the moment is for an intermediate level LAMP developer - this position will be a good fit for a software developer with 3+ years experience and now wants to move to a fast-paced, high-energy environment, working with bright individuals and strong mentors.

Responsibilities:

• Developing of technology infrastructure and applications for the product platform
• Working with team on features and engineering
• Working on server configurations and settings
• Monitoring service stability and performance

Requirements:

• Post-Secondary degree/diploma or equivalent
• 4 years minimum experience with LAMP infrastructures
• Expert in PHP; some experience with bash scripting, python, C, C++ a plus
• Expert in MySQL and relational databases
• SVN experience
• Expert with XHTML, AJAX, Javascript, CSS, including CSS2 and XHTML strict/transitional
• Web production workflow knowledge (ie, cross-browser optimization)
• A strong desire to stay current with newer technologies
• Understanding and experience of working in a start-up company
• Excellent communication skills across all levels, including strong documentation and writing ability
• Self-starter and strong team player.
