Overview:

Our client is an entrepreneurial group of highly motivated professionals, providing solutions, services, and tools for large enterprises.  We are looking for a product manager who will lead the discipline within the company, and embrace the opportunity and responsibility to drive growth.  The Product Manager will work as part of the executive team to create the product vision, and with development, marketing and delivery teams to launch successful products to identified target markets.

The product manager is strategic but also willing and able to handle the details that go with the successful execution of product management tasks. S/he excels in front of customers, and has an excellent understanding of the needs of the market.  You will perform end-to-end product management, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining roadmap and release requirements and driving the next generation of features and functionality. In addition you will work closely with engineering, marketing, sales, and support to establish, enhance, and distinguish the products within the competitive arena and ensure revenue goals are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the software product roadmap from research and planning through to product launch
  • Perform market research, monitor competitive activity (products, pricing & positioning), and provide competitive analyses
  • Understand what customers want and communicate their needs to internal teams in a clear, systematic, motivating way
  • Regularly interact with customers and sales staff to understand market priorities
  • Establish best-practices product management functions
  • Work with technology partners as a technical liaison
  • Work with marketing to develop external core messaging and assist with marketing collateral including whitepapers, feature guides and related materials
  • Be a voice of the product through blog post, webinars, and speaking at events

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the cloud computing space; the players, the solutions, the competitors – (IaaS, PaaS)
  • 5+ years of experience in product management delivering enterprise software products, including product-management leadership of one or more successful product launches
  • The ability to excel in a small, entrepreneurial environment, with the ambition and experience  to punch above your weight
  • Proven ability to define and launch quality products on time
  • Experience building and marketing products to large enterprises
  • Knowledge of technical software development is required for collaboration with engineering throughout the product lifecycle
  • Proven capability in creating and delivering business presentations
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent (professional product-management certification and/or MBA preferred)

This position is based in Vancouver, BC.  Relocation assistance may be offered to the ideal candidate
