Senior Production Server Expert – Vancouver (AD-PSE)


Our client is B2B Internet Communications company that is on the verge of a growth cycle. They provide North American customers a wide range of IP-based data communications services and also expanded their product line to deliver leading-edge cloud services including hosting cloud servers, hosted private clouds, managed servers and hosted MS-exchange.

They would like to hire a hands-on manager that will be the primary problem-solver as well as lead a small team of network engineers.

Requirements:

  • A degree in computer science or related field, or diploma with relevant experience
  • 10 year experience in Networking, 5 of which specifically in managing large Real Time Networks, preferably in a Service Provider environment
  • An expert understanding of dynamic routing protocols with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the design and implementation of Layer 2 & Layer 3 networks, RIP, RIP2, OSPF, EIGRP, ISIS and BGP
  • Comprehensive understanding of network designs, components and devices
  • Design, implementation, and support of a proprietary ASP application architecture including redundant servers and network access for high availability
  • Capacity assessment (servers and network) and planning
  • Juniper certification (or relevant vendor certifications)
  • Minimum of five years previous data networking experience
  • Sound understanding of networking in distributed enterprise computing environment concepts; understands principles of static and dynamic routing

Technology information:

  • Networking LAN, WAN, FW’s, LB’s and VPNs; Junos  CLI, Junos with Layer2/Layer3 Switch and Routing configuration, QoS Etc
  • Security – Sniffers, scanners, IDS,  PKI,  SSL, RADIUS, TACACS
  • Network and System Monitoring SNMP V1, V2 & V3. SNMPc. Other generic system tools such as SolarWinds or CA Spectrum/eHealth
  • VoIP experience
  • Electronic trading systems
  • Microsoft NT & 2000 Servers, ADS, WINS, IIS, SQL2000, ODBC & DSN’s
  • Citrix Metaframe/XP ICA in the enterprise ASP model with ADS Utilising Nfuse, Columbia, CSG, CGI, STA. Windows Terminal Services and RDP. Microsoft Licensing
  • Linux administration experience from at least a network point of view, understanding of default gateways/routing/configuration etc
    Win32/64 HTTPS, GUI, SSH – VT100, VT220, HTTPS, SFTP, FTP(S), SCP, Connect Direct (NDM), SNMP, RDP
  • Service: SLA’s OLA’s, Class of Service, Monitoring and Reporting Systems. HP-OV.
