Amanda Du Toit's career started in South Africa with a boutique executive search firm. Her initial focus was on psychometric assessments across different levels of people in the workplace, including executives to optimize fit and career growth, as well as mid-career individuals for the purpose of career counselling. She quickly worked her way up to Senior Recruiter working with some of the most influential companies in South Africa. After 13 years in the industry, she decided to relocate to Vancouver in 2000, and joined CR in January 2001.
Software development has been at the core of her focus since 2001. Amanda enjoys talking to techies and understands their career needs. She also believes that the technical skills of development staff contributes only 50% to their success, while finding technically qualified people that truly fit the company culture and future growth expectations plays an important role in retention and longer term success of companies.
Amanda's background in Industrial Psychology enables her to effectively assess people's ability to adapt, to interact effectively, to lead, and to contribute to a variety of different scenarios. She is the go-to person for any organization that wants to invest in their software development team, especially those that are looking for leads and/or uniquely skilled individuals.
