Senior Process Engineer ***Completed***

We are searching for a Senior Process Engineer to help save the world. Our Client has a vision to lead the world in the large-scale removal of carbon dioxide from the air and advance our shift to a sustainable carbon-neutral society. Position Scope

Oversee the design and development of a major integrated area of CE’s process plant and draw from prior experience managing or working for an EPC firm.

  • Reports to the Manager, Process Engineering

  • Manage junior/intermediate Engineers in evaluating the design/making process improvements for specific plant areas.

  • Work with the Manager, Process Engineering to determine the development direction for processes/plant designs.


  • Lead development and scale up of a portion of CE’s process.

  • Evaluate process improvements based on plant data, R&D discoveries, model results.

  • Work with the Process Engineering team to evaluate process configuration options for plant design.

  • Mentor junior engineers.

  • Develop BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment requirements/specifications.

  • Review heat and mass balances, process simulations.

  • Provide process input to the development of RFQs.

  • Review vendor documents, drawings, datasheets, specification and calculations.

  • Interface with Operators to specify testing requirements and obtain test data/learnings to incorporate into plant design.

  • Evaluate sensitivities from process models or calculations to identify potential process improvements.

  • Research and prepare summary reports of alternative design options.

  • Participate in Hazop studies.

  • Subcontractor management.

  • Oversee detailed engineering by EPC as well as start-up and commissioning of new plants.


  • Education: Minimum BEng, BASc Chemical Engineering. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PEng) in BC, or eligibility for registration is required.

  • Experience: minimum of 8+ years of relevant plant design experience.

  • Process design knowledge n mining, water treatment, pulp and paper (petrochemicals or refining experience is an asset).

  • Field experience in a chemical plant including the commissioning of equipment, operations troubleshooting, identifying process improvements based on plant data/observations

  • R&D environment developing new processes
