Chief Technology Officer, Advanced Materials
Onsite: Vancouver, BC
Our client has validated the science at pilot scale and is currently building their commercial demonstration plant. The core technology, predictive intelligence integrated with precision reactor control, is proven and performing. With a broad funnel of technology under development targeting adjacent material streams and markets, they're looking for a leader to operationalize the transition from R&D into the operating plants and position the company for the next stage of growth.
What You'd Own:
Lead the R&D-to-operations transition: moving emerging technologies from the lab into pilot and demonstration plant environments
Own the technology integration roadmap across pilot and demonstration plants for current and new material streams
Define and execute capability expansion initiatives within the operating facilities
Establish technical standards and deployment frameworks for material-specific optimization
Serve as senior technical authority with engineering and manufacturing partners
Drive continuous improvement cycles informed by multi-facility operational data across different material recycling applications
Build the technical strategy for adjacent markets and material expansion
What We're Looking For:
Experience implementing and integrating new technologies into operating industrial environments
Proven ability to evaluate and prioritize a technology development funnel against commercial timelines
Deep expertise at the intersection of predictive systems and physical industrial processes
Comfort leading technology strategy in an environment where the core innovation is validated and adjacent opportunities are expanding
Background in specialty chemicals, pharma manufacturing, or advanced materials
Ability to work at scale: operationalizing innovation across distributed facilities and material applications
