Head of Facilities and Global Asset Management

Our client is a fast-growing life sciences company with offices around the globe. The company is headquartered in Vancouver and has a hybrid on-site and distributed workforce.

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical Facilities leader to oversee the maintenance and operations of our global biologic and pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment while meeting our customers' production and quality requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upgrades of all facilities, equipment, and systems

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and increase equipment efficiency

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, such as GMP and OSHA regulations

  • Manage the budget for facility maintenance and upgrades, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability

  • Develop and manage a team of maintenance technicians and other support staff

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as production, quality control, and engineering, to meet their facility-related needs

  • Implement and monitor safety programs to prevent workplace accidents and injuries

  • Maintain accurate records of all facility maintenance activities and equipment maintenance history

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field

  • 15+ years of experience in facilities management, with a focus on pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing facilities

  • Strong knowledge of GMP regulations, as well as local building and safety codes

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and project management skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior management

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs
