Vice President, Technical Operations – Telecommunications | Vancouver, BC
A rapidly scaling telecommunications provider is seeking an experienced Vice President, Technical Operations to lead the strategy, performance, and evolution of its network and infrastructure environment. The company operates a large, owned fibre network serving tens of thousands of customers across the Lower Mainland, with a reputation for exceptional service quality and industry‑leading performance. Recent years have seen significant growth, major modernization initiatives, and the deployment of enterprise AI tools across the organization.
This role is central to sustaining that momentum. As the senior leader overseeing network engineering, systems, and infrastructure operations, the VP will ensure reliability, scalability, and security across mission‑critical environments while supporting continued subscriber and network expansion. The ideal candidate is a people‑first leader, technically credible in telecom environments, and energized by the pace and breadth of a ~100‑person organization.
What You’ll Lead
Network infrastructure strategy, scalability, and long‑term evolution
High‑availability operations, monitoring, and capacity planning
Enterprise systems, virtualization, storage, and hybrid cloud environments
Network architecture, segmentation, and security frameworks
Automation and AI‑enabled operational efficiency initiatives
Major infrastructure projects, network expansions, and modernization programs
Leadership of network engineering, systems, and infrastructure teams
What You Bring
10+ years in telecom, network engineering, or infrastructure operations
5+ years leading technical teams in complex environments
Deep experience with routing/switching, high‑availability systems, virtualization, storage, and hybrid cloud
Strong grounding in cybersecurity and network security architecture
Proven success driving modernization or large‑scale infrastructure initiatives
Technical credibility with a value-driven leadership style
