Director of Sales, Wildfire Prevention Technology
The Opportunity
Our client is an early-stage BC technology company developing an innovative AI-powered risk intelligence platform that helps organizations identify and mitigate wildfire risk before fires start.
Combining satellite and drone imagery with environmental and other data, the platform provides actionable intelligence that enables governments, communities, utilities and infrastructure operators to identify emerging risks, prioritize mitigation efforts and better protect people and critical assets.
With its technology market-ready and early customer pilot programs underway, the company is looking for a Director of Sales to lead its commercial growth.
The Role
This is a hands-on sales leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys building a business rather than inheriting an established sales organization.
The Director of Sales will take ownership of developing the sales pipeline and converting market interest into customers and revenue. You will personally identify and engage prospects, conduct discovery, coordinate demonstrations and pilots, develop proposals and close business.
Target customers will include government, utilities, First Nations, infrastructure operators, forestry and resource companies, and other organizations with significant exposure to wildfire risk.
Initially, the priority will be to engage customers and generate revenue. As commercial traction grows, the Director of Sales will have the opportunity to build and lead a sales team.
What We Are Looking For
Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end sales cycles for net new business: prospect, qualify, pitch, negotiate, and close.
A strong track record selling complex technology, solutions or services into technical or regulated markets.
Experience selling to municipalities, utilities, infrastructure, forestry, energy, resources or related sectors.
Demonstrated success building a sales pipeline and developing new markets.
Experience navigating complex sales involving technical, operational and executive stakeholders.
A hands-on, sales hunter approach and comfort working without an established sales playbook.
The ability to translate sophisticated technology into a compelling business case for customers.
The ambition to build new relationships, close deals, and grow revenue to scale the business.
You’ll Thrive In This Role If You Have
10+ years of successful sales experience in SaaS, or complex professional or technical services.
A proven hunter mentality with the ability to self-source pipeline and build relationships from scratch.
Strong consultative selling ability and comfort engaging executives and leaders across industries.
What’s On Offer
Competitive salary, commission based
A remote-first culture with visible impact and access to leadership
The Why
This is an opportunity to join an emerging Canadian technology company at an early stage, shape its go-to-market strategy and build a meaningful business around impactful technology designed to address one of today's most significant environmental and infrastructure challenges.
